Service Description
7 - 9.30 pm on the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd October. Welcome to the best hobby ever! Together you will learn how to set up and use your sewing machine, understand dressmaking terminology and patterns, practice all the basic skills you need to get started and .... make some lovely comfy Pyjama bottoms to wear. This is suitable for a complete beginner. The course will run over 4 weeks and each session is around 2.5 hours. There will be a little bit of homework too! The project: a pair of pyjama bottoms with draw string waist. We will sew this project together, starting with preparing the pattern pieces, understanding sizing and how to make clothes that fit, cutting your fabric and sewing step by step. By the end you will be able to wear something you made! How wonderful.... and as they are pyjamas so even if they are a little wonky, it's still amazing as you made them ... or how about making them as a gift for a loved one?.... There are a few things you will need to bring along and we will provide the rest. What you will need: Sewing machine (if you don't have one we will help with advice for this) Notepad and pencil Fabric Scissors Fabric and matching thread for the project (2.5 metres of a cotton poplin or similar, we will help you with selecting this) Pins and needles. We will provide: refreshments, the sewing pattern, fabrics and threads for practising.
